Let's familiarize ourselves with Switchboard and its many pages

Table of contents

The Overview page

When you log into your account, the first page you'll see is the Overview (or Dashboard) page which will look a bit barren at first:

This is because your account is brand new and there's no data in it yet. The Overview page is used for data aggregation, basically it's meant to give you meaningful information about your account at a glance.

You might find the default view a bit overwhelming and not entirely useful, so here's a great article on how to customize your Dashboard to suit your needs!

You'll probably have already noticed those four buttons up here and you might even be familiar with the Sync HQ button.

The Help Articles button does exactly what you'd expect, it opens up the help center.

E-Business Card opens your booking link in a new tab, so if you ever need to send the link manually now you know where to find it!

Funnel Transfer is only really relevant if you already have setup a Switchboard Funnel account. If you're new to Switchboard Activate then you can ignore it completely.

Chats

The chats page is designed to loosely resemble modern messaging apps (e.g. facebook messenger). There's your contacts list on the left, the main chat page in the center, and the information panel on the right. As you can see, Chats is a very information-dense page so, for the sake of brevity, we wont go into too much detail.

To the left is a list of your conversations, you can user various sorting and filtering methods depending on which conversations you want to focus on

In the center there's the actual chat, messages, calls, recordings, voicemail and events, all will be shown here

Finally, to the right, we have the contact information panel

Here you can see and edit some basic information, such as phone, email, DND status and more. You can also select some of the buttons options to the far right (highlighted in yellow) to book appointments or set tasks.

If you want to dive deeper, we've made an article for that!

Calendars

This page is pretty self explanatory, here's where you'll be able to view your appointments in calendar or list form.

For more information on how calendars work, please refer to this article

CRM

This page is by far the most complicated in Switchboard, so much so that we have an entire collection of articles for it and its functions.

The CRM page is split into 3 main sections

1. The contacts list

This is where you can see a list of all leads in your Switchboard account. The default sorting method is by date created descending so newer leads will show up first, but you have options if you want to change that.

2. Action buttons, Search Bar and Filters

This is how you perform bulk actions on your leads (we'll go through them in more detail later), add columns to the contact list, search for specific leads and add filters to your search.

3. Other views & actions

This is where you can view past bulk actions, restore deleted leads, view your tasks and manage your smart lists

Deals

The deals page is used to quickly view and manage which stage of their respective pipelines your leads are in. You can drag-and-drop these cards to move them to different stages of the pipeline, when necessary.

You can also click the cards to edit the Opportunities directly. This is how you'd set leads to Won or Lost

Reporting

In this page you can see various data points about your calls such as status, duration, missed calls, recordings and more

Switchboard Marketplace

Here's where we offer a number of premium add-on services to enhance your Switchboard account, there are

Settings

Here you can view and edit all the settings relevant to your account, such as your personal info, synced calendars & other integrations, user availability, your billing history and more
