Welcome to Switchboard Activate!

You must have a lot of questions:

How do I setup my automations?

How do I integrate my google calendar / ical / outlook calendar?

How do I sync my leads?

How do I get my automations to start automatically?

Fear not! In this series of articles we'll go through everything you need to know to get the most out of Switchboard.

First things first, you need to do a bare-minimum setup to make your Switchboard account functional. Then we'll go over some more advanced features.

1. Get your Switchboard Number A2P verified

This step is crucial for the functionality of your account, without this registration you will not be able to send SMS from your Switchboard.

Typically we have to do this for you & the process is done during the setup of your account.

The registration takes a couple of days to be approved, so be sure to receive confirmation from Switchboard Support before starting any campaigns or sending any SMS (calls should work out of the gate).

Note: Typically we assign you a number during setup, if you'd like to change that number, please refer to this article

2. Register your number against spam

It's generally prudent to register your Switchboard number with analytics providers just to be on the safe side: link

3. Set up some calendars

Switchboard uses a number of built in calendars to handle appointments & the automations that relate to them. You can find them in Calendars > Calendar Settings.

Which of them you should setup largely depends on the types of leads you'll be working with. For example: If you're working with Life leads, then you'll setup the Life Insurance calendar. Here are the main calendars you might use:

  • Life Insurance

  • Mortgage Protection

  • Retirement Solutions

  • Initial Interview (Recruiting)

  • Final Expense

  • Debt Free Life Appointment

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do NOT delete any of these calendars. They're tied to the automations that send appointment reminders to your leads, so if you delete them, or create calendars of your own, the reminders wont work. You can rename them if you wish to do so, just don't delete them.

4. Import your leads from HQ (Sync HQ)

You can do this using the Sync HQ button in the Overview page. Here are some more detailed instructions on how to do that.
