Typically, we assign you a phone number when your account is first created. For most agents this is fine, but if you wish to change that number or just get an extra for any reason, this article describes how to do just that!
1. Go to Settings
2. Now, click "Phone Numbers"
3. Click "Add Number"
4. You can select an area code with the "Filter" button
5. On the page that comes up, input the area code you need, then select "First Part of number", then hit apply
6. Select the number you want, and press "Proceed to Buy"
7. You can edit your number by clicking the 3 dots to the very right of the number, then hit "Edit Configuration"
8. Here you'll be presented with a number of options.
Pass called umber as Caller ID - This makes it so whenever a lead calls you, you'll see your Switchboard Number as the caller ID. We recommend keeping this OFF
Forward Calls to - This is the number to which incoming calls to your Switchboard account will be forwarded to. Set this to your personal number
Enable Call connect Feature - This will make it so you have to press a key to connect to an inbound call. We recommend turning this OFF
Whisper Message - The message that plays when you receive a call from a lead
Call Recording - Whether or not to record calls. When a call is recorded, you'll be able to see the recording in the contact page of that lead & it will look like a voice message.
Play Call Recording Message - This is the voice message that before the call starts. It's illegal in some states to not disclose that the call is being recorded, so it's recommended that you leave this ON if you use call recording
Incoming/Outgoing call timeout - How many seconds before the call terminates & goes to voicemail. You can leave these as is.
Ring Incoming Call to selected Users - Only relevant if you have many users in your account. You can leave this off
9. Do you need this to be your default number?
By "default number" we're referring to the number out of which the automated texts are sent. If you wish to change this number, please reach out to Switchboard Support.
